frequently asked questions

What is Viveda?
Viveda is a comprehensive health and wellness assessment based on a single sample of your blood. It focuses on actionable areas called lifestyle cornerstones. These cornerstones are the foundation for good health and wellness and preventing conditions like heart disease and diabetes. Lifestyle choices have a tremendous impact on these cornerstones and, consequently, on your health and wellness.
How is this different from a traditional blood test at my doctor’s office or hospital?
The Viveda blood test won’t feel any different because the process for drawing blood is the same. The difference is the comprehensiveness of the analysis and the results you receive. For example, traditional blood tests to measure cardiovascular health analyze 4-20 molecules. A physician then receives a lab report with individual molecule results and determines if heart disease is present. In comparison, the Viveda Cardio assessment provides 47 molecular measurements. The individual and the physician receive results for each molecule analyzed and a bioprofile score indicating the overall level of cardiovascular health. Instead of simply providing evidence of heart disease, Viveda can actually discover if an individual is moving towards heart disease, before symptoms appear. This makes Viveda more definitive and more predictive.
How much blood is drawn for the assessment?
The amount of blood drawn is equal to about 15% of the volume of a typical blood donation.
Can the Viveda assessment be used as a diagnostics tool?
The information in the Viveda assessment is not a diagnosis. Instead, the assessment is meant to be a tool for you and your physician to evaluate your overall health and identify potential health risks. Your physician will interpret your results and provide specific recommendations in response to your assessment findings. We believe that your physician is the best person to do this because he/she has a better understanding of your medical history, your lifestyle and other health issues that might be affecting your assessment results.
What can I expect from my results?
A Viveda assessment contains a lot of information, including an overall summary of your health, your bioprofile, results for each measurement, easy to understand definitions, wellness tips, and additional information resources.
How will I be able to tell if the changes I implement based on the Viveda assessment and my physician’s advice are working?
Hopefully, you will feel a difference in your health! But, if you would like something more definitive to measure the results of your changes, you can repeat your Viveda assessment in a few months. At that point you’ll discover if you have improved your results and your health.
What is a bioprofile?
A bioprofile is a summary of an individual’s health at the molecular level. Based on the analysis of targeted molecules in a blood sample, it offers a more accurate and comprehensive picture of health. The molecules traveling in the bloodstream throughout the body provide a system wide view of how the body is functioning. PPM is the first company to provide an individual’s health bioprofile.
How do I know I can trust this assessment?
PPM is a registered CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) laboratory and strives to maintain the quality laboratory testing standards of both CLIA and the College of American Pathologists. These standards set requirements for the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of test results.
